INDUSTRIAL PARK KECHNEC


TOTAL AREA: 332 hectares (820 acres)

The park has been divided into three zones:
  • 80 ha for small amd medium entrepreneurs
  • 200 ha for strategic investors
  • 52 ha for logistical center

INFRASTRUCTURE
  • Electric power – 22 kV and 110 kV
  • 6 transformer station at the park borders (each with power of 1MW)
  • New electric station (capacity 80 MWA)
  • Gas regulation station with capacity of 5 000 m3 / per hour, the semi-pressure networks within the park, high pressure at the park border
  • Water source able to provide 63 liters per sec; two pipelines with diameter of 315 mm
  • Network of drinking water with diameter 225 mm and network of industrial water with diameter 200 mm
  • Sewage pipeline with diameter of 300, 500, 600 mm
  • Capacity of waste water treatment plant is 12 000 equivalents; currently, there is app. 25 to 30% of capacity used
  • Surface raining water canalization with capacity sufficient for the whole park area
  • Sufficient number of phone lines and high speed internet connections

TRANSPORTATION:
  • The Kechnec Industrial Park is located app. 18 km from Kosice, the second largest city in Slovakia.
  • Kosice International airport is located 18 km from the park.
  • The park is 0.5 km from the border with Hungary; the Ukraine and Poland are approximately 100 km driving.
  • The Kechnec Industrial Park is 60km (36 miles) from a connection to the European Highway System in Hungary; there are plans to finish the expressway Kosice (Slovakia) – Miskolc (Hungary) in the near future. After joining the European Union, there will be one continuous highway from Kosice to whole Europe. The road communication I/68 which goes around the Kechnec Industrial Park, is part of the South-East international road network „The Baltic countries – Poland – Slovakia – Hungary – the Balkans“.
  • There is a railway going through the town of Kechnec which is also recognized as one of the routes defined in the International European Agreement on routes of international combined transportation. This railway connects Poland, Slovakia and Hungary.
  • The railway freight transportation to the Ukraine requires access to the Eastern broad gauge railway; 3,5 from the Kechnec Industrial Park the European standard gauge railway meets the Eastern broad gauge railway.
