Successful development of Industrial zone Kechnec
The idea of setting up an industrial zone dates from 1996. The
Municipality Board started to work on projects which would support flow of
investments into a region and bring new job opportunities. With the very first
investor signed on Molex – intensive
preparation of the zone started. The opening ceremony of Kechnec Industrial
Zone was held in October 2003. Today, Kechnec offers not only available
real estate and infrastructure, but also necessary services related to health
care, accommodation for employees, and sports and socializing facilities.
In April 2002, the Slovak government supported creation of the Industrial
Zone in the amount of 184.3 mil. SKK. From this state aid, a new public
infrastructure has been constructed. It includes gas, water, electricity, waste
disposal, waste water treatment plant with sewer system, an access road and
telecommunications. The financial aid was also used for various payments related
to removal of the land in the first phase (80ha). The second state aid was
approved in February 2004 in the amount of 28.8 mil. SKK and it will
be used for final costs related to the technical infrastructure in the zone.
At the moment, Kechnec Industrial Zone provides work for more than
1,500 employees. The zone development has also had a positive influence
on number of residents in Kechnec. Within a year, the town should be ready to
begin large-scale construction of 200 apartments. A professionally
equipped medical center in Kechnec provides primary and secondary health care.
Professional sport center offers two terragreen fields for tennis and succer,
rehabilitation services – massages, sauna, bubbling bath therapy,
professional audio and lighting equipment.
